Your tasks
- In this future-oriented role, act as a discipline expert for instrumentation and automation incl. emergency shutdown (ESD) systems in growth and strategic projects (including end-of-life replacement strategies), both locally and internationally.
- Manage instrumentation & automation in refineries, terminals, and pipelines, ensuring compliance with standards and OMV best practices.
- Make critical technical decisions in international projects, including approval/rejection of deviations.
- Provide expertise, leadership, and coaching internationally, contributing to business strategy.
- Ensure efficient instrumentation & automation design, adhering to relevant safety standards like IEC/EN 61508 or IEC/EN 61511.
- Optimize resource utilization, including budget compliance and tracking KPIs.
- Support project management and coordinate with diverse teams for efficient organization and strategic planning.
- Develop and support harmonized processes and workflows and facilitate knowledge transfer and networking across sites.
- Contractor and contract management strategies and performance evaluation.
- Evaluation and deployment of new technologies for process automation systems.
Your profile
- University degree in electrical engineering, process automation is preferred and at least 7 years of professional experience, or an equivalent technical education with correspondingly higher work experience.
- Sound knowledge of instrumentation and automation technology, with engineering experience in process control and ESD systems.
- Relevant professional skills in international design standards, know-how in plant design, engineering, contractor management, project management and process automation is preferred.
- Strong strategic thinking abilities with a focus on achieving OMV's goals.
- Proven track record of successful discipline leadership within projects and team management.
- Willingness to travel internationally for project-specific tasks.
- Fluent in English and German, proficiency in Romanian is advantageous.
